Home and garden inspiration from the county poor farm

Yep, you read that right! McMenamin's Edgefield (once the county poor farm) gave us lots of great ideas and inspiration for our home and garden. If a once-abandoned (and vandalized) place can look this good, so can our home!

I love your porch. What's that in the last picture?

Have to clarify--that's not our front porch (though I'd love one like that!). I'm not sure what the building is in that last picture. Maybe some kind of shed? I just loved the graphic mural and the barn door.

Lots of inspiration there—love the finials. Thanks for sharing.

Sharon: No, not 3D. The murals are simply painted on the walls.

Douglas: Finials. Of course that's what they're called. The word completely escaped me when I was writing the post!
