Nevermore Crow "Wreath" for Halloween

I wanted a new "wreath" for the front door, so I came up with this one. I used an old picture frame to create my crow wreath. Complete step by step details on my blog.
I have a bunch of old frames we got at an auction one time, so I went and shopped that stock for my frame. This one is 11 x 14 size.
Next I grabbed some burlap looking ribbon I got at Walmart last year, a crow that I got at Dollar Tree and some Spanish moss that I've had forever. If you want to recreate mine, you'll also need a hot glue gun, some black ribbon and a few bits and pieces to decorate your crows nest with.
I needed something to use as a base for my nest, so I took the top of my ribbon spool off and used it to stand my crow on. I used hot glue to stick her feet to the card board.
Next, I grabbed a bit of moss and placed some glue on the cardboard and then stuck the moss to it all the way around the crow's feet.
With the frame laying down, place the nest in the very far left corner making sure the crow is positioned correctly and then glue. I added a pretty good line of hot glue to make sure the nest would not fall off the frame. Let that cool and then proceed.
Since the focus is on the crow, I made her a background so she'd stand out. You can see how I make these pinwheel flowers and the paper roses on my blog. I created them using some old book pages. I added some decor to her nest so it wouldn't be so plain.
I love when I can create something fun just using what I already have in my stash. Are you like me and have LOTS of crafty stuff to play with? It's fun huh?
