Oh so pretty Patricia. I first saw stacking pots on Martha Stewart show. I've been doing it every since. It's so neat and your plantings make it even prettier than I've ever seen before.

I never thought about stacking pots like this but I love the look. Especially with all the succulents.

I am soooo lovin all these stacked pots and broken stacked pots and pots stacked katty wampus on rebar - so many ideas and now summer is almost over. That's ok cause I've saved 'em all in my handy dandy HT clipboard thingy so you just watch out next year!!!

Your pots are so full & luscious Patricia. All the colors & textures are gorgeous! Question here - are sedums & scculents the same thing? Also, do you bring this inside during your WA winters?

I had to Google that to be sure Susan, but yes, Sedums are also succulents.

Marg, there are loads of different sedums. Autumn Joy is an upright 2-3 ft. tall sedum and Matrona can be even larger but there are also tiny little ones and everything in between- I had one one year called Baby Tears - it would be perfect for a fairy garden. I can't seem to get all of them to overwinter so now I have only the ones that can really take whatever the weather brings.

Sedums are succulents but succulents are the bigger group that includes plants in addition to sedums.

Patricia - I love your sedum garden. I have some in a strawberry pot, but haven't replaced the ones that didn't come back, so it isn't photo-worthy like yours.

Thank you ladies! It was fun putting this together. I was going to put strawberries in these pots but decided on the succulents instead. @ Marg I kept all the tags for the plants and every one of them says that it is a sedum. So not really sure why they would say that if they were not? @ Susan I will be leaving the pot out all winter. I got the idea for the succulents because I had already started one of the plants in a small pot by it's self. It was doing really well and it was out ...»
all year round. This was such a nice addition to my garden.

well look at that. I stand corrected. I'll have to do some more research as I thought sedum was an individual succelent only to find out that sedum comes in many different varieties. :)

Ok I looked it up, it's also called "stonecrop" tiny good for rock gardens it SAID winter hardy from zone 5-9....

Well Patricia - which ever you have, it's beautiful! I sometimes think nurseries & our Lowe's, HD etc. just lump everything together and slap a label on it.
