Keeping dormant plants throughout the winter

I didn't get all of my plants planted this past spring. Now I have a few plants left they came dormant and am wondering if anyone can tell me how to save them so I may plant them next spring?

The only surefire way to save them is to plant them in SOMETHING until ground planting, but to save I would just combine all in same container for now

You purchased them bare root? How and where have you stored them until now? I think the best option, as Katrina suggests, would be to pot them up now, and place them in a protected spot like an unheated garage.
