DIY Kitchen Light Fixtures

I found these two milk strainers at a yard sale for $1 each! I knew they would make perfect light fixtures in our kitchen.
The first thing we had to do was make these pieces over to work as light fixtures. With a few supplies from the home improvement store, that was an easy task.
I wanted to make a faux beam over our bar in our kitchen. We bought wood to wrap around the drywall beam on our ceiling. We stained it a dark color.
We attached the wood and then added some wiring and finally our fixtures.
I LOVE the way our fixtures turned out. They are one of a kind and they add a lot of character to our kitchen.
You can read more about how we made these milk strainers into light fixtures in Part 1 of my blog post here: http://www.mycreativedays.com/diy-kitchen-light-fixtures-part-1/ and Part 2 of the fixtures is also on the blog.
