I would like some advice on how to put up some kitchen window shelving that can be for a kitchen type greenhouse without a true greenhouse window

  • You can purchase at a glass shop four or five inch wide or wider glass panes that are tempered and used as shelves. Construct a wood frame to fit into and around the current window opening then place these glass shelves into the frame. Be sure to fasten the frame carefully into the current window opening so it does not tilt out and fall. This results in a few shelves where you can place smaller plants that you would find in a greenhouse window. Only draw back is that the green house is moving into the house taking up space. Here is a link I found to construct one another way. http://www.motherearthnews.com/diy/window-greenhouse-zmaz87ndzgoe.aspx#axzz3GhJ44oI8

Thanks, this is something I've also wondered about and your guidance is very helpful.

You can use those wire shelves that are made for closets and attach them to the surrounding wall or the window trim. We did this to make a utensil rack. We hang things from it with large S-hooks.
