How to install solar powered flood lights

In my quest to decrease my electric bill, I have stumbled upon Solar Powered Security flood lights. A solar powered security light is a great way to light up a doorway, deck, driveway or parking lot! Based on calculations I can save at least $20.00 per month with the installation of solar security lights. This very quick and easy project can be completed within one hour or less. Depending on the solar light manufacturer, the cost for the light fixture ranges from $50 to $150.00. I found my solar flood light on eBay for $79.00 with free shipping. Here are some tips to successfully install a solar motion light on a house or wall. Step 1: First, find a good spot to mount the solar powered security light, where you would like the solar motion light to shine. This should be someplace where the solar powered security light can detect a range of motion and where the solar motion light will also shine light where you need it. The surface should be fairly flat and suitable for mounting a solar motion light on it. Step 2 Next, find a good spot nearby to put the small solar panel that will charge up the batteries for the solar powered security light. It should face south and sit where the panel for the solar motion light can get exposure to full sunlight for as many hours as possible during the day. Look at the spot many times throughout a sunny day to make sure that location gets maximum sun for the solar motion light. Look for possible sources of shade, such as tree branches, overhangs and other structures, or anything else that might cast shade on the panel for your solar powered security light. The more hours of sunlight that the solar motion light's panel gets, the better chance it will have to fully recharge the solar powered security lights batteries each day. Step 3 A wire will connect the solar motion light and the mini solar panel. Measure the wire to see how long it is. Once you have chosen good locations for the solar powered security light and the solar panel, find a place where the wire can go between the solar panel and the solar motion light. Measure the distance between the solar powered security light and the solar panel to make sure that your wire will reach between the two. Step 4 Mount the solar powered security light's mini solar panel on your chosen spot on the roof or wall and mount the solar motion light where you want the light to shine. Run the wire between the two, securing the solar motion light's wire safely against the wall or building. If the area is large where you want lighting, you may even want to add another solar powered security light, to detect motion and light up a wider area. Step 5 Congratulations ! You now have a solar powered security light that is maintenance-free with no electrical wiring necessary. Your solar motion light has a built-in motion detector, the solar powered security light's time delay is adjustable and best of all, your solar motion light is automatically powered by free power from the sun.
* Cost Comments:
Budget Range for new outdoor light fixture $50- $150.00 depending on features and manufacturer.
Advice:
Don't secure the fixture without measuring and making sure it will fit properly.
Do sit back and watch your electrical bill go down.

    Be careful about buying solar lights on Amazon. It's a low-bid world and unfortunately, solar lights are one product where you get what you pay for. We sell a product for which the Manufacturer has a strictly enforced Minimum Asking Price. But, there are discontinued models of one model that are online for 20% less than the newer models (same product number, unfortunately). Unless you know the details of what the differences are between the new and old models (40% brightness, different batteries, etc.) you would THINK you are getting a deal, but actually you are spending a few less bucks to get technology that is almost 8 years old instead of lights redesigned last year. As far as spotlights and floodlights, same thing: you need to know what you are looking for. Check out this Video Clip on Solar Flood Lights for an idea of what to look for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5AQF7u4Niw and this one for solar spotlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-n9HF9_TRs. Once you get an idea of what solar offers (and what to look for when buying), check out our stock at http://www.SolarFlairLighting.com. You'll quickly see that you do indeed get what you pay for when you look at the details and the prices. Bottom Line: Read the product descriptions and make sure you ask the store any questions about what is best. Tip: small retailers are more likely to respond to your email or call about smaller purchases than the big stores, since the customer service staff of small stores is often the same person who selects inventory and ALL customers are important to small stores. Not so with huge stores. Lots of their customer service are horribly ignorant about solar lighting. AND, solar is VERY different from regular lights when you make buying decisions.
