Baby Boy Room

This room was a blank canvas for us. We had the walls primed, and we were just waiting to find out if we were having a boy or a girl. When we learned we were having a boy, we knew we could start on our next project--his room!

We started by scraping the "snow" off the ceiling. We then removed the crown molding, and added the beadboard, the can lights, and the Mexican Star light. After that was completed, we could then place the crown molding in its original position.

We did hire a painter to paint the designs on the walls. We knew he would do a much better job than we could have done.

My husband then ordered and installed the interior of the closet, and the flooring for the closet. He then made the "barn door" closet doors from scratch. We thought the iron pulls really pulled the rustic theme together.

All in all, we all were very pleased with the end result.

Advice:

We learned that we had to have a very specific plan before getting started. In the beginning, we were throwing out ideas, and it was ...»

not until we really thought about it, did we realize how disorganized we were.

We chose the paint color and design for the walls first, and then worked around that. Once we had a feeling for the room in that sense, everything else came together easily.

The only don't I have is : Don't place your coffee mug on the step ladder...it will fall and land on EVERYTHING!:-)

We had a great time planning and creating this project. We knew that we were going to be very pleased with the end result, and that it would be a beautiful retreat for our baby.

Materials:
