I partnered with Portis Building and Interiors, Inc. for this Bath Renovation. This spa like environment was created with all natural materials, the colors of the beach and creative lighting solutions.
*Options I considered for this project:
We capitalized on the existing natural light and added a window in the shower. We gave the owners more privacy and the illusion of space by eliminating the existing unused garden tub and replacing it with a gracious frameless glass shower.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
This allowed us to create interesting tile patterns which could be repeated on the shower walls, floor and reflected on the ceiling. By adding some vertical cabinets to each end of the vanity and framed mirrors over each sink, your eye is drawn up to the ceiling detail and chandelier.
*My motivation to do this project:
The client wanted to update the dark closed-in existing space.
*Project Steps:
We addressed the hroizontal lines and lack of light adding fresh color creating a spa like interior.
Advice:
This client had to work within the confines of the existing space. Rather than give up on their dream, we were able to help them create the illusion of space with ligth and color.
Before. The horizontal lines of the vanity, dated wallcovering and wall-to-wall palte glass mirror dated the space.
Enhancing the existing natural light as well as adding windows and decorative lighting transformed the space.
The existing tub was never used and closed down the space incredably.
The plan was developed utilizing the existing plumbing locations to keep the costs down.
By making the toilet room more efficient, we were able to enjoy more space in the rest of the Bathroom.
