replacing linoleum flooring in kitchen
*Options I considered for this project:
went a couple places to price tile. wanted it to be a masculine look but it needed to fit with other improvements. consider a basic beige tile. but after asking myself if i could live with it long term the answer was no.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
how long will this take? no unexpected events
* Cost Comments:
payed about 1.30 per porcelain tile square. got a great deal on this tile
*My motivation to do this project:
the linoleum was the worst couldn't walk on it with out socks or shoes. needed updating in a bad way.
*Project Steps:
cleaned existing floor measured backer board. cut board according to measurement secure board with nails. cut porcelain tile with tile saw. apply quick set cement in small areas, place tile, grout and seal
Advice:
lay flooring in small areas as not to allow quick set to dry. compare grout colors against your tile. always use a sealant adds shine and secures and cures grout.
Materials:
tile,quick set, grout. sealent - $0.00
OUT DATED LINOLEUM
Had to do a lot of cleaning to get it to this point.
isn't my brother in law the greatest. working steady and getting it done
complete

    Fabulous job on this.... I so need to do such to my tiny kitchen and dining room, but the 'easy' stuff and what I want are HUGE bucks..... so trying to live with it till I can find something like this....... but cutting tiles it scaring me off... I have been told it is expensive and all that. I really like the expensive Armstrong sheet vinyl, but wholly molly, too much money for sure.
