Painting vertical stripes on a wall.
*Options I considered for this project:
Paint colors that I wanted to use.
Size or width of the stripe
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
How to keep the laser level in one stable place while taping the wall.
*My motivation to do this project:
To add interest to my accent wall.
*Project Steps:
I hired a professional painter to apply the base color. Once the base color was completely dry, I used a measuring tape and pencil to mark 15" wide lines along the wall. You would want to base the width of the stripes on the size of the room and the desired look. There are tools or rules that people can use in determining the width of your stripe. I will be happy to share them with you (please email). Now that you have choosen the width of the stripes, align the laser level with pencil marking to create a laser beam that shows where the tape should be placed along the wall. Tape wall lines using 2" Blue Painters tape. Make sure you are consistant with the placement of the tape to the outside or inside of the lines. Once the tape has been placed on the wall now it is time to paint within the inside of the tape lines. I have spounge painted a silver glaze on top of my Burnt Orange Accent wall.
Advice:
Make you adjust the laser to a 90 degree angle. Ensuring the lines will be straight if desired. You can also create diamonds, horizontal or other geometric shapes using the lazer or templates.
