Re-did foyer and entry to great room.

We wanted to dress up our 30 year old entry way, so we added marble tiles for the foyer, a floor to ceiling mirror, new lighting fixture and a smoke free vent-less fireplace.
*Options I considered for this project:
Other types of fireplaces, different flooring, faux finish on the wail instead of mirroring.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
Having to assemble the fireplace when it arrived in pieces was difficult.
Getting the tiles upstairs was difficult.
Leveling off the fireplace and attaching it to the wall presented different options or not at all. I chose not to bolt the piece to the wall to make it so I could clean behind it.
The glass due to the size was difficult for the contractors to get up the stairs and mount on the wall without breaking.
The marble that replace carpet in the entry required wood underlayment and the grouting took longer to set that we expected.
* Cost Comments:
Fireplace $700
Mirroring (Including Supplies) $980.00
Flooring - marble and grout etc... $280.00

*My motivation to do this project:
Wanted to update a tired old entryway adn add value to the property.
*Project Steps:
Purchase fireplace and tiles, hire contractor to install flooring and select mirror company.
Advice:
Be VERY careful when hiring one man show contractors to do small jobs. Mine was a nightmare!
The mirror company was good- I was able to get professional references on them before hiring.
Make sure if you live upstairs you consider having someone help lift and pull the heavy materials up for you.
Materials:
FIreplace - $0.00
Marble Flooring and wood - $0.00
Mirroring - $0.00
Edging for mirror - $0.00
My girl got her chimney and I got a marble, mirrored foyer!
