Woodland Mushroom Cups

Some felt, wool, wire, string, some poly-fil and a cup from the thrift store yield this sweet little piece of the fairy forest for your home
I just traced two round shapes for the sizes I wanted for my mushrooms from felt. I stitched around the edges of each with cotton string and put a little bit of poly-fil stuffing in before I completely closed them up.
I made stems from more felt wrapped around some heavy wire and glued in place. The wire is slightly longer than the felt so it sticks up above and below the felt stem.
I needle felted some wool to the top of each mushroom for spots. I also stitched some gills underneath with the white cotton string.
I gathered a circle of green velvet with thread and filled it full of stuffing before I pulled it closed and knotted it.
Last I glued each mushroom to the stem, poking the wire into the mushroom to help hold it. Then I glued the stem to the base and made sure the wire goes down into the velvet at least an inch. This makes it much more secure and allows me to bend the mushrooms any way I want.

I also made some with sweet little mice. To see them as well, check out our blog link below...
