Installed new heating unit.
*Options I considered for this project:
I considered heater only versus a heat pump system which included heating and air.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
Old Unit was a little big so had trouble getting it out of the crawl space under the house. Had to take it apart to get it thru the crawl space. Needed duct work.
* Cost Comments:
I was lucky, I only spent $1,000 because I had a home warranty.
*My motivation to do this project:
My gas bills were outrageous. Requested the gas company coame out and checked it. Shut my heater down because it was faulty.
*Project Steps:
After researching the cost and my home warranty not covering an updated heat system I chose heatin unit.
Advice:
Research cost, consider the old unit was there before the house was finish being built, thus tight space.
Materials:
heating unit - $1000.00

    What a nightmare. Taking that unit apart under teh house must have been tough. How is the heat pump keeping you?
