Garden Beds

Beds for vegetables
*My motivation to do this project:
I wanted garden beds, so we built us some
*Project Steps:
1. Bought some 2x8's
2. Levelled ground with a shovel
3. Took long screws, built the structures
4. placed in hole
5. covered bottom with weed blocker rag
6. filled with dirt
Advice:
DO NOT USE pressure-treated wood! Not if you are planning to eat what emerges from the bed, anyhow
I know there's a better picture somewhere..
this is sort of a silly picture, but it's the best one I can come up with of the raised garden bed
here's the big huge truck that came to deliver a couple tonnes of farm-fresh manure-enriched topsoil to our yard

It's amazing how much fill dirt/manure is required. I built a 4x8 perinnial bed on a slope for a Mother's day present. I tried to bought manure by the bag at local home improvement store. By the time I finished Ihad made five trips to the store and used almost 50 bags! My wife being so appreciative only said, "that's great, can you do one to match over there?". My back said no.
