How to clean headlight oxidation

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Oct 21, 2014There are many methods of doing this. The original lens that is fogged has a coating on it that over times fogs, becomes yellow and dulls out. Most of this is caused by the sunlight hitting the plastic lenses. Most automotive supply shops now carry kits that you can use to make them look almost new again. Its important that you follow the directions of the kit carefully Some kits have special sand paper that you will use to remove the top layer of plastic followed by using a polishing compound to complete the repair. Once done its critical that a coat of wax be applied to protect the newly polished finish. The original lens had a special coating applied when it was formed to protect the plastic. This will be removed thus the reason for the wax. These kits range from $30 to $50 depending upon brand and where its purchased.Helpful Reply
