I would use a hole-saw to make a hole in the bottom (that's on top) the size a cork will fit into and re-fill it with a funnel. Better yet - I would get rid of the wet jet and buy a rubbermaid mop that comes with a refillable bottle and micro-fibre clothes that are re-usable. I think there are a couple of others out there as well.

I have used a sturdy pair of pliers to prise the lid off it in such a way that it would go back on again without leaking.

Actually....you boil some water, set the top with lid in the hot water for just a couple minutes, and the cap comes right off. I do all the time, works every time.
