Type N is good but I like type S Cement is formulated to provide a mortar with enhanced setting time, workability, water retention, durability and bond. It's good for use in load bearing walls or wherever higher adhesion, greater compressive and flexible strengths are needed. To make Type S Mortar mix 3 parts Masonry Sand with 1 part Type S Masonry Cement by volume. So be sure to get some sand if you plan to use this. Now if you are just looking for a quick and easy DIY product this may work as well. LOCTITE Gray Concrete and Masonry Polyurethane once it dries it's a very though product and would work good for stones on flat surfaces. but not on vertical walls.

Great suggestion, Hudson. You'll be happy you have the added strength, Marc.
