5 Storage Hacks For Boots

One of the best things about cold weather is breaking out the boots. Between comfy Uggs and wear-them-forever Fryes, they’re versatile footwear that’ll take you from September to spring.
But, because one pair of boots can take up the same real estate as three pairs of shoes, we can’t really bring up boot-love without also suggesting some good storage solutions.
Here are five ways to efficiently store your entire boot collection:
1. Maximize Closet Space with Skirt Hangers

Hang boots from the top to keep them off the floor and neatly stored in a row. You can use hangers designed specifically for boots or use adjustable skirt hangers. To maximize closet space, we recommend installing a second hanging bar, so your boots won’t compete with clothes for space.

2. Roll Cartons Under Your Bed

Organize your boots under the bed with rolling cartons. These cartons are clear so you’ll see your entire collection. Tip: Put rolled up magazines inside your boots to hold their shape before placing them in the bins.

3. Hang Boot Racks

Unleash the gloriousness of storing three pairs of boots next to a pair of pants here. These Whitmor boot racks are an awesome storage option, because they take up the same space as your average dress or slack and cost about ten dollars.

4. Add a Trunk at the Foot of Your Bed

Snag a cute trunk that matches the decor of your bedroom and store your boots inside. Check out a thrift store or Craigslist for a cheap trunk with some charm.

5. Think Outside the Bedroom

The best spot to store boots may not be in your bedroom. If you typically take your boots off as soon as you walk through the front door, a boot organizer in your entryway or mudroom may be best for you. Plus, you’ll reduce dust and germs in your home by taking your shoes off ASAP.
