Any chance of getting the first contractor to fix his mess?

He is return and fix problem but I feel he does not have a clue on how to fix, giving him the opportunity but it's his last chance, but I thought I will have no more $$$$$ involved, thus, I will see what he does before I hire another concrete person, but you know contractors don't like to fix someone else problem thus break it all up &start all over

Monica, If this guy comes back there is no guarantee that he is going to make it better for you. Try another contractor, in times like this you may find somebody who is willing to work with what you have. I agree nobody likes to finish another person's work, but it won't hurt trying to find somebody else.

I think there is an epoxy you can put over the stone to hold it, but can't remember. I worked on a job in the 70's that had this problem and I think thats the way it was fixed, but not 100% sure

I let the original contractor go, I got 3 estimates and they all agree this it did not have a clue on how to do the job in fact 2 of them offered letters of acknowledgement indicating job. Was not done properly. I am now having to shell out another 2k, oh well live and learn and don't pay ahead for the job, this should be a clue that the contractor does not have any credit and has to pay as he goes.

Sorry to hear that you paid upfront. Glad that you have a written contract. You may be able to seek recovery in small claims court. Obtaining a judgment does not mean you are going to get repaid, of course.

What a drag sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hopefully, your getting some references on the new bidders. Good luck, enjoy your $3K slab, the most expensive 7x4 piece of ground in PA!

Jim & Kevin thanks for your input I am going to have my atty.Write a letter to guy with attachments requesting refund, thus, I can use toward the new expense. I am not usually this bad in choosing but my husband was in the hospital with lung cancer when all this was going on and my thoughts were not on the contractor, thus, he took advantage shame on him
