Thanks Douglas these ranches are on slab foundations and are very common around the brockton area and do require some attention as back when they where bbbuilt they did not use pt plates or any pt so they do require some work

Glad you put in new windows. I just got back from my parents' house in Dallas, TX, and they put in new windows this year. The house is much more comfortable, and the heat runs noticeably less. They said the difference is more dramatic in the summer, but I make lots of excuses to avoid Dallas in the summer. I'm sure it makes a far bigger difference up in MA.

You are making great progress. I cannot wait to be able to put new windows in my house, but since they will have to meet Florida hurricane code, it is insanely expensive.

That is a nice 'little' job. It will be a great low maintenance house for someone. That's a really nice bow window in the back.

The flipping market in NJ is starting to heat up again also. But many are just repairing and renting with option until the market turns around.

The best thing about it now is the contractors are not tearing down the homes and putting up the monsters they were just a few years ago. This is saving our bedroom communities. Way to many home were bought tore down with McMansions built in their place. Pushing the young couples and first ...»

time home buyers out of the quite little towns and forcing them to purchase town homes or rental units in the city areas.

flipping is also good in some metro denver area markets as well as oklahoma city. In denver you can pick up a house for 100k put 20k in it and sell for 170k
