Painted Brick Fireplace

Fireplaces in general are not efficient. And to top this off, it was UGLY. Plain red brick and a rough hewn log as a mantle. I dry brushed each brick individually. Hubby covered the fireplace with a sheet of copper then installed a wood burning stove, which is much more energy efficient. We found a beautiful pine mantle, added the corbels. The wood stove puts out lots of warmth in the room and not up the chimney, making both of us very happy
