Our Kitchen

#MyKitchen

I know you wonder how I cook (and I do), surrounded by so much stuff. I'm not comfortable with blank spaces! It's a disease with no known cure. To see more: http://bargainhuntingwithlaurie.blogspot.com...

Yes, I have 2 ranges. We have appx 30 people for holiday meals, and 2 ranges gave me more cook space than a commercial sized range.

Laurie, I suffer the same disease... the saddest part is that I always want to get more "stuff" and I have no more room LOL My fix... we are going to upsize our house in the new year LOL Now that is sick LOL Your kitchen is beautiful by the way ;)

(another Becky) This is my third try at posting...I think I finally got in via FB. Laurie, your kitchen is beautiful and does have a "lot" but you do it beautifully and you have a way of displaying your "stuff" so it's not the least bit cluttered...and you get to enjoy your displays while you cook...it's great! I have a small kitchen with very limited space for my goodies...so I've been known to put a few too many and decide later..."too many" and take one back. It's still fun...let's ...»
face it, "stuff" is fun and especially pretty "stuff" like yours. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Pamela, Becky, and AnyoneCanDecorate. It's so nice to know I'm not the only one with the "keeper" disease!

You're kitchen is beautiful, and only YOU can say when enough is enough. I subscribe to the Charles Faudre More is More theory. :) I love that hood and the range. Dreamy!

Oh Laurie - you get no sympathy from me - only envy!! LOL I always say my style is to "decorate with abundance" and I exercise that right to the fullest!! Your kitchen is gorgeous and you have absolutely no reason to explain anything to others!!

You people who have commented on my kitchen have made this a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. I was prepared for negativity from minimalists. I enjoy seeing pictures of minimalist decor. I just can't do it myself. Barb and Susan, thank you for your exceptionally kind comments.

Here's a negative comment....I don't like it...........because it's not mine!!! :) Love your kitchen and all the pretty pieces. I know you probably have a story behind each item and everything is meaningful to you. That's what makes a house a home.

LOL! Donna R, you got me. When I got an email, with only the beginning of your comment, I was scared to click over to read the rest of the comment! I was delighted and giggling when I read the rest of your comment. Thanks so much.

Honestly Laurie when I go into a home that people have not hung photos/art, no knickknacks, nothing that tells me who they are it makes me kind of nervious... really, I'm not joking LOL

I always worry people are going to think my home is cluttered (it is LOL) but people tell me my house is so cozy and homey... if homey is dust, I am the queen of homey LOL

you have such a beautiful kitchen and it looks so comfy and cozy. there's no need to de-clutter as it all fits very nicely :) It would kill me to have two stoves because that would mean I'm working too hard in the kitchen! More power to you :) lol

Thanks Marg C. I decided that 2 stoves gave me more cooking space than a commercial range (less expensive too). We have appx 30 people for holiday dinners, so I do put both of them to good use!

I hadn't thought of 2 stoves but so many times I haven't had enough burners for my holiday dinners and this would have made life so much easier. Plus 2 ovens....and cheaper combined than one of the commercial appliances. Nice job with thinking and planning outside of the box.

Thanks Marg C. Another advantage is that I can cook at 2 oven temps. It really has worked out great. It wasn't so much good thinking as it was being cheap, but it worked.

Thanks Pamela Walker! I was really surprised that Marg C noticed that. I'm so used to seeing them that I don't think they are obvious. It is one of the best ideas I had when I did the kitchen (even though I only had the idea because I didn't want to shell out money for a commercial range.)
