Barb these are absolutely darling! Have you been saving different natural elements from the garden and happened to think of creating these from them? Or, did you have the idea and then tour the garden for elements to create them?

Oh, one more question: What are their heads made from? It looks like very large acorns.

Yes, it is acorns. If you go to my website, my most recent posting is the directions and more pictures of even more fairies! The site address is ourfairfieldhomeandgarden.com

Whoops, missed the first question! These materials were all gathered the same day and then I made the fairies. I will start saving materials as I see them now to make different variations though!

I wish I had time Barb, but our son and grandson just moved in while he (our son) finishes college so I've been busy making room for their needs. Not to mention all else I have on my list.

Barb, have you ever heard of the fairy doors of Ann Arbor? I was born and raised in Wilmington, DE, and live near Ann Arbor, MI where fairies are a big deal. I love your fairies! I hope to make some for my fairy garden. Thanks!

No, June - is it an event, website, place? I'd like to hear more! Let me see what you make - they seem to take on personalities of their own as you make them : )

Just Google fairy doors of Ann Arbor. There are doors all over the town at different businesses like Google. They give a map so you can visit all of them. Also, at the Arboritum at the University of Michigan there is a fairy village where people make fairy houses from nature's materials.

I did and they are amazing! Love the little stairs behind the doors in some of the pictures! Thanks for telling me about them, June.
