I Love Mums With Hypertufa All Year

I think that the small bushy plant that is the chysanthemum is a pretty looking bush all year long. It goes so well with my troughs sitting among them. And then when the blooming starts, it just gets better and better.
Chrysanthemums are easy to care for, so you can't ask for a better plant. They grow back every year, sometimes changes colors. Pinching them all year keeps a nice tight plant which is the most attractive.
And those little tips you pinch off? Just smoosh them down into potting soil and water every now and then, and you have more plants. They automatically take root. Maybe not 100%, because of course, some will die. But I have way too many mums just because of this. If you pinch off 25 tips and root those, you have the possibility of 25 MORE plants. Yeah, overwhelming!
And there are some pretty color combinations out there. Check them out. You can find some to fit any preference you may have. I am partial to pastel colors, but love them all.
I like the stone and the green bushes with all the splash of color. Don't you?

I would not have thought mums would make a good year-round container plant. Glad your experience has been otherwise.

Oh no! I didn't mean them as inside the container. But as a companion plant for seating my troughs around. I am sorry. I guess I should revise it all. ( If I can.)
