Primitive White Pumpkins

With Thanksgiving coming up, I wanted to start making some simple decorations for late fall. I love anything that looks primitive or rustic, so I made these primitive white pumpkins out of wood blocks.
I started out with plain wooden blocks that were cut from a 2x4. We have a lot of these around the house, and my husband sands them down so that they're ready to go. I'm a wood fanatic, and the possibilities are endless!
These were orginially going to be orange, but I didn't like how they looked. So, I repainted them, sanded them and added some embellishments until the pumpkin blocks looked old, worn and chippy but still had some character. The stems are from old wine corks, which I darkened with a little bit of brown paint.
After Halloween, these pretty pumpkins are going up on the mantel, and I can't wait! You can see additional photos on the blog. :)
