Pottery Barn Knock Off Hurricane-from spoons!

After seeing Addicted 2 Decorating's Spoon crysanthemum mirror I knew I could make my own version of Pottery Barn's mercury glass hurricane using plastic spoons...here is how it turned out! What do you think?

Plastic soup spoons would give a softer bottom curve.

Christal Serif I think you'd be just fine making it-it was super easy!

I'd LOVE to make a few of these some time!!! The look super cool and it's always good to have extra lighting vessels around for those "just in case" times.

Ok, I just CANNOT let this opportunity pass . . . . . Diane Blanc - that's just what we all need - a softer bottom curve!! The Ramblin Rosies have thoroughly corrupted me. I sure hope you have a sense of humor!!

I tried this late last night and as the saying goes "If a first you don't succeed, try again." This time it won't be at 3 am, and Iam hoping to achieve 1/2 the look you did!

I still have to get my spoons. I have so many ideas floating around in my head I need to start a written list so I can keep up w/things I need to get when I'm out & about!!

I need a list too Susan! Don't you know I leave work every day and realize when I get home "I forgot to look for this and that"! so frustrating. I bolt out of there and don't look back lol

Try using the colored clear plastic spoons! No paint needed and colors! Even adding some embellishments would be nice.

Susan and Marg, I have a long list going too, but the one thing I learened is don't try anything in the middle of the night! If I could just learn to sleep like a nrmal person, life and projects would be so much nicer@

Diane Holick these were clear spoons but you could see the hot glue...I'm a messy glue-er!! Terri J you're better than I am, I always do projects with three rugrats at my feet!

Terri J I also need to learn how to sleep like a normal person but I'm most creative through the night :S

Marg, isn't it funny how our brains come up w/ great ideas in the middle olf the night? if you are like me too, come daytime/evening I am a total blank on what I was thinking of getting and doing. I put a notepad in the nightstand so I can start remembering, but then I leave the house w/out my notes.

Meliessa, I don't think I would be doing any projects if I had three rugrats at my feet, ...»

unless their father or grandparents would take them now and then.,

I think I'm going to try this with clear spoons and Krylon Looking Glass spray paint to give it the look of mercury glass.
