We sold a home back in early 2011 after showing it during peak-Christmas season {yes, it was decorated!}. I implemented these 10 home staging tips to make our home sellable and memorable and to allow our home to shine.

Love the suggestion of baking bread. I would totally think fondly of a house that smelled like freshly baked bread.

On the other hand, I am a music geek and am always distracted and annoyed by bad music (shopping is a chore for this reason), so I think leaving music on would be a bad call. Just my opinion.

@Steve, Oh I hate grocery store music! :) Something much more tasteful is what I was thinking.

Actually, I have noticed the music is a lot better in the middle of the night at the grocery store, at least out here in this college town. When I have had to run to the store at midnight, it's mostly stockers in the store with me, and the music is louder, heavier and better than during the day.

I can see where the right music would set a mood, but I just think it would be hard to find the right music.
