Cute or Creepy?

This has apparently been going around the internet and fascinating people. With all the talk about bugs that I've read on hometalk lately, I thought I'd share this with you guys and see what you think. It is real and it is a Venezuelan Poodle Moth. See more details at: http://cosmiclog.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/2...

Looks like I would need to ditch the flyswatter and upgrade to a tennis racket to take care of this guy.

REALLY? I'm not sure I'm buyin this . . . . . looks like something made out of the fancy chenille stems and a few other fuzzy craft items. To me it looks "posed", as though it's leaning on one arm, little feet hanging over the edge of that curb and the wings look like plastic. I'm just sayin . . . . .that's what I see!!

BUT then again - if it's on the internet it must be true RIGHT? LOL

Good old moth. We have seen some strange ones in our area as well. Not quite as nice as that one, but really strange none the less. Teresa, you live an interesting life to say the least.

I think it's kinda cute. It makes me think of the movie Gizmo. He could be Gizmo's cousin with wings. LOL Stay away from light and water!

lol @ Susan ... I'm trying to see your visual. It actually looks like it is rubbing its hands (?) together to me. But it is apparently real.

@Woodbridge & Di S ... I can't take credit for this. I didn't take the picture. It was found somewhere in South America.

You guys should check out the other neotropical moths in this guy's photo collection. There ...»

is a "bolognese caterpillar" that looks like a guinea pig! I kid you not! http://www.flickr.com/photos/artour_a/sets/...

If this landed anywhere near me, I would have a heart attack on the spot! It looks like something from a B rated horror movie.

Teresa - thanks for sharing that link. Wow - some truly amazing creatures. OK, so never let it be said I can't admit when I'm a little bit not right!! But, it still doesn't look REAL - and it still looks like it's made out of chenille sticks!! ;~)
