Did you ever walk into a home and immediately feel welcome? There are certain cues that make everyone feel at home and putting them in your entryway is a sure way to welcome guests to your home.
The very first thing I notice when I walk into any room is a feeling of space. If you want people to feel welcome, they must feel unfettered access and the best way to do that is to remove all clutter. Everything in your entry should serve a purpose, even if that purpose is to define your style.
