re-doing resurfaced kitchen cabinets

Several years ago we had our kitchen cabinets "resurfaced" We had no idea that meant putting some kind of substance (type of paper I think) over the top of the original cabinets. Now it is peeling and we don't know what we can do with it. Can't afford new cabinets so has to be something we can do ourselves. We are pretty good DIY'ers.

But what do I do with the cabinets when they have already been refaced and now the material is coming off???????

Depending on the material used you either remove it...or go over the top of it. If this was a thin adhesive layer you could easily add thicker real wood facing that would be nailed in place with some small wire brads.

Have you contacted the installer and/or the manufacturer? It may have come with a warranty.
