So happy to see your autumn crocus, Ann. Many people don't know about them. They seem very early, though! -
Thanks Douglas, but yes they are very, very early, wonder what that means for us this fall & winter? Not good probably! But I know, I can't think that way or it might happen! lol -
Enjoy them and try not to think! -
This flower bed has Tiger Lilies, Peonys, Alliums in summer. I cut them back for fall & I get my crocus here to, I did this last year here. Now I'm going to transplant plant even more crocus into this bed, for al lot are getting hidden by the bricks we laid around the house. Plus I'll add more black mulch in here where the Tiger Lilies are on the outside ring then stones are in the middle of it! -

Be careful cutting back foliage that is green. It is still nourishing your plants. You might tuck in some asters-Aster cordifolius 'Little Carlow' is a favorite-as companion plants for your autumn crocus. -
I see what your saying Douglas for my other Asters not ready yet. But my Asters are big, won't that over crown them. See show you my asters from last year!-

You would be have to be mindful of the spacing. For a lower-growing aster, take a look at "Purple Dome." -
Thanks Douglas, will go see what this new flower is your talking about & the other one you said too! Thanks! -
I'm always happy to encourage a visit to a nursery, Ann. -
I found pic with the peonys blooming -

Those are lovely peonies, Ann. The daylily foliage probably helps to hold them upright, since they tend to flop, especially after a good rain. -
Douglas, the lilies do hold them up, for all my other ones I have circle plant holders to hold them up!
