Patricia C on Oct 31, 2014my home is compact and i have a bank of french doors that overlook a lake so i chose roll-up shades to give a clean line. i also used ikea sliding curtains on another door leading to the lake while i wait for new doors, as they are inexpensive and they carry some interesting designs. curtains are beautiful in a large room. of course, plantation shutters are beautiful and easy to maintain. i've attached some pics. good luck. if you google "how to cover sliding doors" you will find plenty of ideas and recommendations.Helpful Reply

Renee on Oct 31, 2014You should use the beautiful static cling films from Wallpaper For Windows. They give you privacy, UV protection, heat reduction, all without darkening the room. Super easy to install. They will even do custom printing of your art or photos. www.wallpaperforwindows.com We love ours!Helpful Reply

Annie on Nov 03, 2014I have this very same issue. Please keep the suggestions and ideas coming and I'll check back along with Lori. I'm not a minimalist. So far we've used bamboo roll-ups but they don't insulate as well. How about plantation shutters of some type? Wish I had room for sliding barn doors. Pretty pics, Patricia!Helpful Reply
