You may be correct on this Becky. I usually test a small area in a closet or under a vanity, etc. Okay let me say "glazed tile" and Porcelain!

Looks great. Can you use this on floors and if so, do they say use a sealer after to keep it clean?

Diane S...I would say yes you can use it on floors. I didn't seal mine but common sense says that would be a really good idea! I think I'll get some sealer...

Thanks. I just looked and Lowes has Zep which is specifically for floors. My grout lines are so dirty, it's embarrassing. I'm not totally to blame since they were already pretty bad when I bought my house. lol.

I got mine at Menard's. I believe you can buy it online through the website I linked to in my post. Just click over to my blog and click on the Tile Guard link.

I used the white pens by Rejuvinate and love them. They are in the cleaning aisle in my Home Depot.

Sharron, no sealer is needed for this and it does last quite a long time.

Sharron Tile Guard is not a paint; it's a grout and tile cleaner/sealer.

The grout paint works great! We did this on old tile in our house in Colorado. We actually poured the grout paint into a plastic bowl and used a toothbrush to apply and "scrub" the paint into the grout, which filled the little pinholes, etc., Turns out the child-size toothbrush was about the same width as the grout, so it didn't get much on the tiles themselves and made for easy clean up. We then sealed it with a clear grout sealer (which comes in its own applicator bottle with brush ...»
already attached), which kept it protected and easy to clean. An easy couple of hour job, even for an entire floor that covered kitchen/dining and hall area from entry.

Sharron, I checked out her post on this on her blogg, and I have to recant. It looks like the product she used is a type of paint. Sorry about the misinformation; I've never seen this product by Tile Guard.

Hmmmmm well then I would think sealer would make it last longer then....I can't say tile is my specialty so what do you think? you've done so many more projects than I have...

If it were I, I would locate the product, read what it had to say and go from there. It's entirely possible, once the grout has been restained white (or painted) and cured, it can be sealed. If that is the case, I'd seal it for sure after restoring the white grout. I have no white grout in my home. The tile floor have a "Fla. dirt" colored grout, and all the stone floors have matching grout. I doubt anyone has all those colors in a grout restoration kit. Additionally, all my grout ...»
has been sealed, and I reseal it whenever I think it needs it. The sealer I use says it's good for 10 years, but like everything else, it all depends upon how much use it gets and what cleaning agents it may be exposed to.

Can you please tell me the company that makes Tile Guard? I have not been able to find it at either of my hardware stores in the same bottle that you have shown and I want to make sure I get the exact same product.

To Fiddlin' Holley...I tried to send you a message but Hometalk won't allow it unless we are following each other. Hope you see this...here is the link to the Tile Guard website. http://tile-guard.com/Product-Information/Ti...#

This bottle is different than mine because I think my bottle might be older. This has the same dabber top that mine had before I cut it off. Good luck!

I also thought I might add that the Rejuvinate Pen that I used in white, also comes in a couple of other colors....I'll be in the store today and if I can remember I'll take a look and report back :)
