Building a Pottery Barn Inspired Home Office

A year ago I converted my son's old bedroom into a home office. It's become a haven, a place where I blog full time, sew, craft and relax. The office took a little over a year to really complete. I tend to be a slow decorator, only buying pieces I really love for a space. There's a reading corner with an English-cottage chair and a small library down one wall. The office closet got a makeover with an IKEA Expedit. Great storage!...

My son had flown the nest...all grown up now. Still don't know how that happened! It was hard taking this room apart but I was really excited about building a spa...

Can you pretty please come over my house and build a desk just like that one for my room. Those simple L shaped Corner working desks are very hard to come by.

Jeff, check your local CL under furniture by owner. If your area is like ours you'll find used wood file cabinets to use to make your own. Just add plywood tops which HoDe or L's will cut to size for you. {Note, they won't make cross cuts though so if you want something other than 4 or 8 foot you'll have to cut that part yourself.} Just add trim, prime and paint and you've got it!
The corner piece is just a square with the front and back corners cut off. Just a little bit in the back for cords.
