Clock in the Woods... Finding Beauty in the Unexpected.

Sometimes it is fun to do something a little unexpected...
One day last spring over our morning coffee my husband Kent pipes up and says "that clock would look amazing sitting in the woods."
So naturally,  we had to try it.
We love clocks, currently three reside with us and they give me pleasure every time I walk past them.
We bought this early Canadian pine tallcase clock at auction.
It has wooden works which are fascinating. The painted face is signed W.Woodruff Burford U.C. We believe the piece to be from Norfolk County Ontario.
It felt very "Full Circle" to see it outside in the woods.
It is back in it's place of honour in our family room now, but it was amazing to see it outside communing with nature!

the U.C. stands for Upper Canada and a clock with wooden works is probably worth a considerable amount of money. Chances are it can be made to keep time again.

I was looking for a picture of a grandfather clock outdoors, specifically one in the autumn leaves (time and aging metaphors). I found your pictures. Just great. Come the Fall you couldn't take it out and snap a few more pictures could you???? (Only joking!)
