Count me as number three on the leaf one. Trees, leaves, bark, wood....I love them all. I think I need to make a mosaic framed mirror. I'm going to start collecting tiles and other goodies to add to it. Thanks for inspiring me Rhonda.
Becky if you build one I can walk you straight thru it! I would love to help you! Remember that you can incorporate just about ANYTHING! Old Costume Jewelry is a Fav of mine and broken dishes, old glass, tile, stone, photographs, etc. ...It's Endless! I thought of doing a Tutorial on making the concrete leaves soon.
Rhonda, a tutorial on the leaves would be great! Rhonda, I noticed when you were making the bird, you had the webbing behind it. Did you adhere your design to that webbing? What adhesive did you use? @Becky, come on over; I've saved all sorts of tiles and stone tiles from all my flooring, thinking I'd do a mosaic one of these days, but haven't gotten to it yet.
Becky H. I will try and do a tutorial on the leaves in the next two weeks. The mesh behind the mosaic is what I originally stuck it to because the customer wanted it designed for her kitchen backsplash above the stove area ...then she changed her mind (in case she ever sold the house)
That mesh can be ordered online or purchased from a STUCCO Supplier. I used plain white elmers glue to attach the small pieces knowing that however I mounted it later, that adhesive would

strengthen it along with the grout.
The downfall of using this material and just Elmers Glue is that it dries clear ...so IF you use clear glass the mesh May show thru in your final piece. The BEST Way would be to adhere it to it's permanent backing and by-pass the mesh.
That you Rhonda. It might be awhile before I'm ready to do one, but I'll let you know. Well that is unless I head to Becky H's house since she's been saving for awhile. :^D Thanks Becky H!
Rhonda, thanks for the information. I have purchased some mesh to have on hand, along with multiple other supplies to create a mosaic. The problem is, I keep changing my mind about where I want the mosaic. So, when the brain finally settles, I'll be ready to go. I've never used the mesh before, but thought it a pretty good idea for putting the mosaic together and transporting to where it will be applied. I definitely appreciate the concern about mesh showing through the glass; I

hadn't thought about that yet.
Becky.............come on down! I've boxes saved up!
Okay Becky, but you're passing up on green slate, green marble, honey onyx and travertine.............of course, you could buy plenty of it for what it'd cost to travel here.
Yours too?!! My son thinks our home resembles emerald city. He keeps telling me I have enough green in this house. When he saw the Marinace Green granite we put on the kitchen countertops, I thought he'd choke.
So not only do we have names in common, but our favorite color! Ha ha ha! I love that!
As for the boat, I have to ask hubby. Wait, I'll just go out on the sleeping porch and take a picture. It's got it's cover on, but it will give you an idea of what it is.
Cool Becky! You've an inboard-outboard. If you strike a sandbar/shallow water, you can tip the prop and pull yourself off just fine. If it was inboard, a hard grounding would require a pull. This is a very versatile vessel! You're going to love it.
Wow you know a whole lot more about boats than I do! We bought it used from a friend of my hubby's. You'd never know it was 17 years old. It's in amazing condition. He had it serviced regularly. If we don't get a shed built this fall we'll rent a storage garage for it.
We plan on it Becky, just not sure we'll have the time this year. We've needed a shed for over a year now, but with our daughter getting married this summer it put a damper on it. We had things we needed to finish in our home before the wedding and once that was over we were sort of tired out.
I remembered to take a picture of the boat today without the top on...
Your boat is the same type as our first; the only difference is the color, and we had an outboard. You'll enjoy it's versatility! While weddings are joyous affairs, they sure can be stressful and kick the starch right out of you. Hope you catch your breathe soon.
We're very happy with the boat. Just not the way we mess up with it. LOL Once that check list is made we'll have loads of fun in it. We want to take a trip up the river soon.
You got that right about weddings. Even small ones like this was is a whole lot of work. It was beautiful though. Everyone had loads of fun and daughter looked like a princess.
Well, you may as well make your next trip "up the river"; you've already been up the creek. That's how an exhausted brides parents know their wedding plans were successful, when everyone has loads of fun.
Oh Becky I about fell off the back of my chair when I read that. You are too funny. I can't stop laughing. Yes we certainly have been up the creek, but thankfully we did have a paddle!
Our ten year old grandson by love said it was the best wedding he'd ever been to.
