Where to Save on Fall-Planted Bulbs

Just because your garden has gone to bed for the season doesn't mean you can't still plant. In most parts of the country it is still prime time for bulb planting, and many sources have marked them down. I am passing along sales from three of my favorite suppliers to my gardening friends here at Hometalk. If you know of others, please post them here.
Old House Gardens is having a "dutch auction sale" on their remaining inventory. That means that every day the price goes down by 10 percent on what they have left. That beauty above is Lycoris radiata var. radiata, or the red spider lily, which, of course, I ordered at full price awhile back.

John Scheepers has marked down several of its collections by up to 25 percent off. The flamboyant daffodils above are included in their "Show-off Narcissus Special."

If you have room for a fair number of bulbs, the wholesale division of Scheepers, Van Engelen Inc., has similar savings. The two gleaming white daffodils above, the lower of which is "Thalia," a favorite of mine, are included in their "Glistening White Narcissus Special."

It is "suppose" to go down to 15 degrees in NYC thisThursday BUT I don't plan to let that interfere with late November bulb planting!

@Douglas Hunt My outdoor bulb planting has been postponed until 11-21-14. Because of my recuperation from eye-surgery, I need help doing it and my gardening comrade is not available until then. However, that hasn't stopped the bulb-planting gardener in my indoor succulent garden!
