Small Space Entryway Mudroom Makeover for $100!

Like many of you I live in a small home that wasn't blessed with great storage. It didn't come with a coat closet or a mudroom. I was constantly battling the shoes, coats, bags, and crap because we had no designated spot to organize it and this was driving me cray cray. My husband and I tore out our nasty carpet on the main floor and installed some new hardwood floor earlier this year and this inspired me to create this little spot right next to the garage door into a mudroom. Funny, how you get inspired, right? It's been such a relief to have a spot where my family can unload, take off their shoes, and a way to keep it all tidy. It's one of my new favorite places because it's bright, happy, and inviting.
This is what that small space looked like before. There was a dinky coat rack on the wall and that's it. Thanks to my husband and his two brothers for helping us install our flooring. What would we do without family?
This is what it looks like now. I reupholstered these two ottomans last year and had them in my living room, but decided I liked them here better.
This just proves you can live in a small space and have it be functional and stylish without breaking the bank. I was on a tight budget for this space and spent less than $100 to pull it off.
The whicker basket I purchased at IKEA is where we put our shoes. The fig ficus plant is from Home Depot.
Our dog Winston loves to take naps here.
The mirror was a cheap garage sale find where I spray painted it with red glossy paint and painted the hooks with a gold oil sharpie pen.
