Natural All Purpose Cleaner

I got sick of wondering what chemicals I was spraying around my house. I went looking for ingredients that would make a cost effective cleaner that actually worked. Here is what I came up with.

Good for you! What do you do with these ingredients? Also, a cleaner for what?

Thanks Haley. I too hate using chemicals to clean with. Can you leave the lemon out though? I'm one that's hyper sensitive to scents and lemon is one that can drive my allergies wild. I know you said the the Castile soap came scented, but the three you mentioned don't bother me.

You can make it even simpler to clean green.

Dish soap. Having the right tools also helps. I have a Commerical cleaning business and we also clean homes.

Most manufactors give you the way to also clean green. Not the sellers, or installers the manufactors. Wood floors a few drops of dish soap in a warm bucket of water. A micro fiber mop. ...»

Anything stronger will damage the finish this is these are polyurethane floors, wring out the water because you are cleaning the sealer which is what protects the floors and mop. I have a dry micro fiber mop and dry them. Leaving water on floors will create damage to all of them.

Tile, micro fiber mop, warm water few drops of dish soap, dry.

Windows and mirrors. I use a rag with a few drops of dish soap, or corn starch in cold water( dissolve ) and wash them. I use a squeeie I purchased at Lowes for eight dollars, had my for twelve years. And squeeie the mirror or window off and then I use a glass cloth, I buy these in mass quantity but Walmart carries them and dry the windows. No chemicals.

Furniture, I use the glass cloths to dust. If the furniture is really covered in dust then I use a few sprays of water on the cloth and dust, and dry.

Bath tubs again dish soap. Dawn works great, or my favorite shampoo. Regular cheap shampoo it gets rid of oils in your hair and it is gentle.

Dry with and use the glass cloths to shine. Vinegar in the toilet, it is a acid. Let set and scrub. It is also a natural disinfectant add a few drops of dish soap and you can use it to scrub down the toilet also add water water to this. The squeegee will also help with the shower. If you clean it with dish soap or shampoo rinse it really good because cleaners build up and dry it off with the squeegee. And dry the rest with a old towel using the glass cloth dry the glass doors and the faucets they will shine. I also use microfiber towels to clean with. Maintance is key. Vaccumming, drying bath tubs or showers keep you from having to purchase expensive products. Again manufactors are keeping up with today's standards. They give you alternative ways to clean your products without buying expensive products to clean. Always go to their sights this way I know when I am cleaning a business or home my customers get the very best service and I have the knowledge to pass it on.

Yes, what do you do with them? How many parts to water do you use and so on? Also where do you buy your Castille soap? @ Becky, Im sure you could leave out the essential oil or use a different scent. If you want it for the cleaning values of citrus, try using a lemon's juices directly instead of the oils. less potent.

Thank you Shari. I have Lemon Juice on hand for cooking. That doesn't bother me so I'll give it a try.
