Dresser Dilemma!
Not too long ago we were blessed to have found the perfect dresser to convert to a TV stand. We thought that maybe the inside could be used as shelves to hold the components but upon closer inspection, the materials there seem to be very bowed and of very thin materials. I would post a picture of it, as I've taken a few from my iPad - but when it pops up on Hometalk the picture is upside down - I'm not sure if that's a bug or not... Anyway, they look like they can be replaced, but the material would have to be somewhat thin to fit in the slots. Being inexperienced in this area, we're not sure where to go from here. Has anyone else run across this? Any suggestions? Thanks!
Miriam - Will the photo editor work even if it's mobile (for example: the iPad)?
@Miriam and Yair - Thanks for the collaborative help, and the information! I figured as much that it probably wouldn't have the capability, but I had to ask in case it was handled a different way and I missed something. Hopefully this post will help other iPad users who are wondering the same thing. ...»
@Woodbridge - Hmm, interesting idea. Originally I took the photo in landscape mode, so I'm not sure what Hometalk and the iPad consider upside down in that mode. I'll experiment and then give an update.
Okay, I've done an experiment and it seems that Woodbridge was right on target in guessing the problem. For some reason - in landscape mode - it wants you to hold the iPad with the camera to your left (and the button to your right.) I know I should know these things, but when I took the picture initially in the app - it looked the same no matter which side I took it from. Strange... ...»
As for the dresser...Upon further research - thanks to Hometalk! - we've figured out a way to get the job done. We were going about it all wrong. I shoudlve researched first, but our problem was more specific. I originally wanted it to fit in like the old warped boards, but realized that in order to get them in would require it to be too bendable - which of course would compromise the tensel strength too much. We've opted for birch cut to size - as it is a close match to the wood that is already in there. Will post pictures as soon as we move it to it's destination! :)
Yes we're very busy catching up on things we didn't get done for planning the wedding, but then we also got a few things accomplished around the house that we'd been putting off. Like real stairs. LOL Yes we lived here over eight years with construction grade 2 x 10 stairs.
Here's a picture of the dresser. I had to fill where it looked as though a puppy had chewed on ...»
I can imagine so. I'm glad to know you're getting many projects done. Wow! I know what you mean - there's been things we've been meaning to do for years and have just gotten around to them. :)
Wow, that is one beautiful dresser! That would look great in dark walnut! And I like how you've arranged the pictures. :)
P.S. Will try to post a pic of the dresser as soon as we get the drawer possibly lined and in.
I hope you find something that works for your dresser soon.
Thanks! Then I can put the drawer back in and it'll look complete. :)
I should have know that like minded decorating folks would understand my picture-less frames.
