Thankful Tree-Turkey Style

This Thanksgiving I wanted to create a unique and fun Thankful Tree as our centerpiece. Come take a look at this simple DIY project that you can do yourself!
Do you have a jigsaw? Then you can create this gobbler for your mantel or as a centerpiece for your table. If you have old forks that have sentimental value, but not sure you want to use them with your meals? This project is the perfect use for them.
Use a piece of paper and draw your templates. Then use the jigsaw to cut out the shapes on a thin piece of plywood. Shims were used for the tail feathers.
Paint all your pieces in chalkboard paint. I used Martha Stewart multi-surface in gray. This makes the entire surface doodle friendly.
Lay out your pattern of shims and forks first. Then use hot glue to adhere the shims. E6000 to adhere the forks. Embellish your turkey body.
The forks function as photo holders. Tail feathers are embellished with words of thanks.
