Vintage Sewing Machine Base to Cute Little Table

Talked Mom into letting me have this little sewing machine base. Both my Grandmother's were seamstresses and had this type when I was little. So, this was very easy to do paying homeage to my past.
Vintage sewing machine base, piece of wood from Home Depot, wood stain, black spray paint, and of course graphics from the wonderful Graphicsfairy.com.
Pretty easy, sprayed base black. Got pretty piece of wood cut at Home Depot (18"x36"). Purchased some wood stain in grey, wanted aged driftwood look, but husband did not want another chalk painted piece in the living room. Ok, sanded lightly, stained, and let dry overnight.
Picked out graphics, enlarged on Blockposters.com, colored backs of words with pencil, taped out on top, traced, then used black craft paint to create words. Simple and clean, easy to do, finished with coat of clear paste wax. Haven't screwed it down yet, cause I didn't finish the other side (haha), so when we need a change, I can flip the top over and do my white chalk paint and graphics, like I intended! (haha)
Makes a really cute little table that would easily work in entry way, kitchen, hallway, or anywhere you need alittle something, something!

Sherry Lee on Feb 18, 2015Hi Jessica, there are some holes in top of legs on base, didn't do it yet, still not sure how much I like thickness of top, but we will just use some wood screws to screw them in, hope that helps.

Faye Longest on Feb 09, 2016I love the idea of having two entirely different sides. When you want a change, just flip it over! Thanks!
