Repurposed Shirt Slipcovers

Don't throw away those old shirts! Repurpose them into chair back covers. I made this one (on the left) for less than a dollar and I only had to sew one straight line. Here's an easy & quick tutorial. Thrift shops are your best friend for something like this.

Jami, I love this idea, I have some old (antique chairs ) that I have been waiting to get started on .I have also thought about using quilted pillow shams, that I have found @ yard sales & Goodwill .

Thanks, Debbie! The pillow shams sound beautiful. I just picked up a vintage raspberry floral pillow case to use on a chair in my daughter's room. That was easy. All I had to do was slide it over the back of the chair! Let me know if you whip those shams into slips. Would love to see them.

Pretty! I've seen flannel shirts used for Christmas-time too. You can tie the sleeves in the back and insert pine branches with pinecones.

like that idea. pillow case does nice, too. No need to sew unless add lace or something pretty ribbons to sew.
