Tuula these are so pretty! Now I have something else to look for when I thrift shop! LOL Like I need more things. :^{ -
Thanks so much Becky! I know, I know... but it's so fun to make things. -
Yes it is. The problem is I don't always take the time to follow through and make the things that I buy the stuff for. -
why did you use the contact cement instead of the Marine goo? my first lamp birdbath was a disaster because it was too tall and too ornamental. As I decided to cut the top of it down with a hack saw, all the little parts holding the lamp together came apart. I started re-gluing a single small section at a time, but it still fell apart when I put the heavier dish on top. I had managed to remove a long steel pipe from the center that was apparently holding all the littlest pieces together. ...» -
Hi Cathy: For these birdfeeders I didn't use contact cement. I used Marine Goop adhesive which is a boat repair adhesive that is very strong and meant to withstand all different types of weather. I think I only used contact cement in my very first birdbath, which worked, but not as well. Now I use the GOOP for all my outdoor projects where I use metals and glass items. I still take them in for the winter as I live in wintry/snowy country. I have found that some lamps have too many pieces ...» -
I love that!! -
