If it's a small spot, you might be able to color it with markers to blend in.

It's 4 big bleach stains. Will markers ruin it
  • Only option you have is get a new husband. Once the carpet color is gone, you will need to remove the damaged area and have a professional replace that part. If the carpet is new, there should have been some remnants that can be patched back into the damaged areas. If there was nothing left, check in closet to see if there is the same color carpet in there. They can cut out something from a closet and replace it with the stained carpet so you will never see it. If its really new, you should be able to get a few yards from the company that sold it to you and hire a carpet person to change it out for you.

Sounds like it is ruined anyway. If you can afford to have it replaced, they usually can cut out an area and with special tape and iron used to patch. Otherwise I would play with coloring it. Life happens, it's done and it was an accident so move on, get creative.

That happened to me too! My spot was small, like 2''x2''. I figured I might as well try painting. Went to craft store, bought several colors of green(carpet color is sage) mixed till I got a match and painted the fibers. I know where the spot is, but it works for me.

Harsh cleaning chemicals can discolor carpet, as well as bleach. If bleach was spilled, it will need to be nuetralized, then the missing colors will need to be added. Only a HIGHLY trained professional will know how to correct this issue.

If it were my husband he would be Dead Man Walking for sure! (OMG ) Seriously though, a carpet specialist can replace just that area for a minimal charge. Accidents happen, don't be too hard on the handsome devil material things can be replaced. Best of luck.
