Log Reindeer

Over 20 years ago my husbands Uncle Tony was known for the log reindeer he would make for Christmas. Uncle Tony is gone now, but we've kept the tradition alive during the Holidays.
Every year we add to Santa's herd and gift a few to family and friends, and while each reindeer is different, they all have the same ingredients - logs and tree branches.
If you own a chain saw you can make these. Previous versions had googly eyes and white faux fur on the tail, but Winter is hard on things here so we now use all natural body parts from our woods.

Except the nose!
The ears, eyes, and tail are all small pieces of tree cut and nailed on. The antlers are replaced every year with fresh twigs.
You can read the story of our Rudolphs at the Bliss-Ranch blog link.

Oh my goodness this may be one of the cutest things I've ever seen.

@Hannah V If you've got a stuffed Santa you could whip up his whole team!

How about making some tiny ones for the Xmas tree. You could try wine bottle corks and tooth picks?? I love this idea.

@Carole Yup, been there done that. The tiny ones are shown on my blog page, and I think I did a post about homemade ornaments one year and included those as well.
