Our unused Dining Room transformed into an elegant Library

We really don't need our dining room since our eat in kitchen was plenty big for our large table. So instead of just collecting dust we decided to make the space usable for our family by transforming it into a Library!

I desperately want to turn my dining room into our office/craft room, but kinda' hate for everyone to see the mess as soon as they enter the front door. Not that anyone is fooled for long anyway...

Another thing we did similar Melissa. When in the planning stages of our home I closed off the door from the kitchen to what would have been our dining room and we built bookcases so we could have a home library. We are avid readers so it only made since. Our dining table is in the sunroom which opens from the kitchen which made more sens than using the dining room in the original plans.

I love your green WTs and the black does look so very elegant.

Tamara and Linda, why couldn't you say something NICE?! Redfly, I think your new room looks great! The color you chose for the walls makes the room appear so intimate and comfy... I'd love to sit there when I had some quiet time.

Tamara, maybe you should consider cleaning your bathroom. Linda H., when you do your room your way then you can share and post. Otherwise don't criticize someones efforts. She did a great job on the room. It looks wonderful.

No offense taken. We have bookshelves in each of the kids rooms too. And we recently moved across country so had to get rid of a lot. There's plenty of room to grow. :0)
