Silver & Gold Beauty

Easy
This pallet was headed to the trash! I asked my husband to save it after we received it from a delivery of bricks for our DIY Fire Pit (also found on my blog). He forgot and put it out at the curb!! Luckily I noticed it, and saved it's life.
After spraying it with a ton of bug spray (I saw tiny spiders so be careful), I cleaned it off so I could paint it with a dry brush...meaning I just used a little white paint on the brush. I wanted to keep the rustic look.
While it was drying in my foyer, I got all the supplies together because this baby was a one night project! I had saved some silver and gold ornaments from the thrift store for this and I had already purchased a string of white lights.
I began by putting nails in where you see the "x"s. I zig zagged back & forth with the nails/lights and threaded it through to the back to plug in. Then I decorated it with gold foil star garland and the ornaments were just attached to the chord where ever they seemed to need one. The star on top was a thrift store item that I detached from an old tree and nailed it in. The snow flake is from the grocery store.
Last step was getting my husband to slice a log in 1/2 vertically and screw it into the bottom for the stump. This baby turned out way better than I ever imagined and has become my most popular Christmas project ever. I display in on my front porch under a roof to protect it. See more on my blog if interested. I have a list of supplies there.
