Spicing up old decor pieces from the basement with silkscreens and glass paint!

I've never used glass paint before and had no idea flexible silk screens for glassware even existed. They are easy enough for a beginner like me and give professional results in seconds. I went on a spree and made emoticon napkin rings, ginko leaf vases, a few candles and an inkwell for tools.

Looks great. I didn't know those flexible silk screens existed either. Great idea. I gotta tip off my homebrew buddies on this. They could make some cool bottles with this.

Oh I just love these! I have a thing about leaves, trees and wood so they're right up my alley.

Steve -- the ones I have seen so far are typography and nature inspired, but I can't wait until cool vintage label type screens come out. Your bottle idea has my head spinning!

Susan and Becky -- thank you and I did have fun! My children had to cover their arms so I didn't silkscreen them -- I kind of covered every surface I could find :)

LOL I bet! It's fun when you find something you enjoy doing that your children can partake in too.

Are these the same stencils that can be used for etching glass too?

Hi Becky - I am not sure if they are technically to be used for etching glass, but there is a "frost/etch" paint that makes it look like it is etched glass, but is really just paint :)

Thanks Amy. I'll have to check Hob Lob next time I'm there.
